Who Is Anointed?

Luk 4:16-21 KJV

(16) And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

(17) And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

(18) The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

(19) To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

(20) And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

(21) And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

Verse 21 does not say that He said, it says that 'He began to say unto them'. Many would rather have it be said Jesus said not that He began to say. This verse means that he did not end it, it began it. This is the start of miracles.

Act 1:1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

Jesus began to do and teach. That means we are to finish it.

Back to Luke 16:21. When you began to say it is in you but has not come out yet. He started it we have to finish it. Verse 18 would say that the Spirit of the Lord is on Jesus. Since we are to finish and the Spirit of the Lord is on us. Look at what the Spirit did with Sampson when it got on him.

Isa 10:27 KJV

(27) And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

Common misquote, 'the anointing will break the yoke'. This is not true. It will be destroyed not broken. If it breaks we can put it back together. Burdens come from Satan. Do not accept it. The anointing will remove the burden.

Anointing is God doing what you can not. Why do we believe that God can heal somethings with the anointing but we do other things? God can deliver from drugs but not smoking.

Mar 5:25-26 KJV

(25) And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

(26) And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse,

This verse is not here to put down doctors. It is there to tell you that everything that man could do had been done.

Mar 5:27-34 KJV

(27) When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

(28) For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

(29) And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague.

(30) And Jesus, immediately knowing in himself that virtue had gone out of him, turned him about in the press, and said, Who touched my clothes?

(31) And his disciples said unto him, Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?

(32) And he looked round about to see her that had done this thing.

(33) But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came and fell down before him, and told him all the truth.

(34) And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.

Jesus did not touch her. She touched His clothes. The anointing can take up residence in cloth. She had faith and that is why she was able to draw the anointing.

1Jn 2:20 KJV

(20) But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.

1Jn 2:27 KJV

(27) But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.

Luk 4:18-19 KJV

(18) The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

(19) To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

You are a preacher no matter what you may think. You ever stub your toe in the middle of the night. You were preaching. That is not good preaching. You need to preach to the poor, not feed them. We need to heal the brokenhearted not council them. We are to preached deliverance to the captives. Laying hands will not do any good if you do not preach to them what to do to keep their healing. You need to preach deliverance so that when delivered they can cast them out of themselves.
